Without hope there's no fullness of life. For better, hope makes a broken world a more habitable place. It enlivens the church with extraordinary faith, for Christ lives at the center of its experience. Christians are therefore blessed with hope-filled minds and offer hope to the world. To believers hope is like faith. Much of this faith is gained in living by the dogged pursuit of the Gospel of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Once converted, a believer is caught up in the spirit and is blessed by the Heavenly Physician of Souls. These blessings are celebrated by the faithful participation in the Eucharistic Rite.

An American inventor - one of the most productive of his time, Thomas Edison (1847 – 1931) remarked, “Genius is one per cent inspiration, ninety-nine per cent perspiration.” It was obvious Edison thought that we must be dogged about our commitments to obtain the best results. This is why a little inspiration like a mustard seed is enough for great motivation and achievements.

A Renewed Human Spirit

Initiating love and being loved are excellent virtues. With all the beloved, love drive fervent hope. It takes never changing love not to lose hope. Never will we want to be derived of the hope for living in Christ. It is the everlasting flame that is sound, good and just. Be inspired by hope, live righteously and reach out to the world around you. With an air of respectability, put on the cloak of patience and perseverance, for a heavenly consolation awaits you. With every deed, be the symbol of heavenly grace in your community, and by blessing the earth with your presence. Hunger for the heavenly gifts for these are just and right. Pray daily, storming the gates of heaven while seeking God's freedom to be a vigilant Christian.

It was Francis Bacon (1561 – 1626) an English philosopher and statesman who observed, “The inquiry of truth, which is love-making, or the wooing of it, the knowledge of truth, which is the presence of it, and the belief of truth, which is the enjoying of it, is the sovereign good of human nature.” This is in the steadfast hope of a sovereign God that brings us to the blessedness of gracious truth which becomes the living and active hope for our souls.

Light of the Lord

Be concerned especially for young children that are innocent ones in the world. Use hope as one of your Godly weapons to trust God for their welfare. Always remember that issues which affect the weak have a global dimension. To be truly blessed calls for our great Christian hope to be steadfast in every enterprise we undertake in God's name. With fruits of patience we labor in the trenches to promote goodness in and for man. These actions often call for patience and courage because there will always be evil forces that will endeavor to hinder our work. It is impossible to control evil although we can counter it with God's help. When we do so, we are expressing love and casting our eyes towards the gifts of the Kingdom of Heaven and not on the Kingdom of Man.

Then we can declare like Charles Wesley (1701 – 1788) an English Methodist hymn-writer, brother of John Wesley:

Jesu, thou art all compassion,
Pure unbounded love thou art;
Visit us with thy salvation,
Enter every trembling heart.

Be a Force against Principalities and Powers

God's hope is a force against principalities and powers. We know that the rulers of darkness can never have true hope. They are robbed of their hope because of their devious behavior and actions to corrupt others. Believers must therefore bear patiently their onslaught and bring their evils before God who alone know their hearts. Be rich in heavenly wisdom. By proclaiming the truth, oppose errors in judgment, and challenge desperate acts of unrighteousness. Your experience will make you bask in the glimmerings of the glory of heaven even as you live on planet earth. We are assured that the wicked will have no place in heaven.

Edmund Burke (1729 – 1797) an Anglo-Irish statesman and political philosopher that became Secretary of Ireland observed, “The use of force is but temporary. It may subdue for a moment, but it does not remove the necessity of subduing again; ... This temporary force is what tyrants put their trust in. But true Christian hope is marked by everlasting joy, peace and goodness. Be inspired by the hope of God that will be the salvation of  all believers.
